What your first round costs

Put in what an hour of your time is worth and how long each candidate takes today. It compares that with the minutes you would buy and the time you would still spend.

How it's worked out

Plain assumptions, so you can disagree with them.

  1. Your time is priced at the hourly rate you enter, and nothing else. Overheads, tools and the cost of a slow hire aren't counted.
  2. Scheduling, the call and writing notes are the tasks an interview takes over. Reading the resume stays with you, because we don't read resumes.
  3. With an interview in place you still read every report and set each role up once. Those minutes are counted against you.
  4. Vettika's cost is the cheapest mix of purchases that covers the month's interview minutes (candidates × interview length), at today's prices of $0.30 to $0.38 a minute.
  5. Interviews are charged for the time used, rounded up to the next whole minute. An interview can't bill more than 2 minutes a question, so a short interview costs less than the length you enter.
  6. The yearly figure is twelve months bought one month at a time. The first 10 minutes are free and aren't taken off.
  7. An interview doesn't replace every conversation. Most teams still call the people worth talking to, and that time isn't counted here either way.

Questions

What should I use as my hourly rate?
Use what an hour of the person doing the screening costs you: a recruiter's salary and overheads divided by working hours, a founder's billing rate, or an agency's hourly fee. The calculator has no rate of its own.
Which of my tasks does an AI interview replace?
Finding a time, the call itself and writing notes. You still check resumes, read each report and decide who moves forward.
How is Vettika's cost worked out?
It multiplies candidates by interview length to get the minutes for a month, then finds the cheapest mix of prepaid purchases that covers them, at the prices on the pricing page.
What does break-even mean here?
It's how many minutes of your time each candidate must save before Vettika pays for itself: the cost of one interview divided by what a minute of your time is worth.
Can I share my numbers?
Yes. The page address updates as you change the numbers, so copying the link shares them.

Cost isn't the only question. See how an AI interview compares with phone screens, video and resume screening, and with other tools.
