Vettika vs Karat
Karat runs live technical interviews with human engineers for software hiring, while Vettika runs an AI voice first round for any role, so they suit different stages and different budgets of time.
Karat's column comes only from Karat's own website, read on November 4, 2026. We don't quote their prices; ours are on the pricing page.

What Karat is
Karat says it runs live technical interviews on your behalf, led by trained interview engineers rather than AI. Its candidate page describes an hour-long interview that is mostly programming in a full coding environment, and it says interviews are recorded and scored on detailed rubrics.
Where the two differ
These aren't really substitutes. Karat replaces an engineer's time in a technical interview with another engineer's. Vettika replaces a recruiter's first screening call with an AI interviewer, for any kind of role, and doesn't test code.
Some teams could use both: Vettika for an early conversation about experience and motivation, and a live technical interview later for the people who pass.
When Karat is the better choice
Based on what Karat says about itself, it's likely the better fit if:
- You're hiring software engineers and need to see them write code.
- You want a person, not an AI, to run the interview.
- Your own engineers don't have time to run technical interviews.
When Vettika fits
Vettika fits the step before a technical interview, or roles where there's no code to test. Every candidate gets the same questions, and you read a scored report with quotes before deciding who to spend an engineer's time on.
